Our Story
As our trip to Thailand was coming to an end, we realized we still hadn’t visited a viewpoint a friend had recommended. It was already late in the afternoon and the sun was about to set, so Gonçalo hurried off — still wearing his flip-flops.
The way up was beautiful. The way down… not so much.
Just a few steps into the descent, one of his flip-flops broke. There we were, facing a long, steep path of loose gravel and sharp rocks and Gonçalo had to go barefoot. With the light fading and each step more painful than the last, we made slow, careful progress until we finally reached the city again.
We stepped into a small local place to rest. Gonçalo’s foot was throbbing, and I couldn’t resist teasing him: “Who goes hiking in flip-flops, anyway?”
That’s when we noticed an elderly Thai lady sitting nearby, inhaling from a small, curious container. Intrigued, we approached her. In her soft English, she explained that it was a Thai inhaler, something she had carried with her for as long as she could remember, a natural companion for many people in Thailand for generations.
We had never seen or heard of anything like it. Why wasn’t this available back home in Europe?
In that moment, our curiosity turned into excitement. We imagined sharing this discovery with our friends and family: a little piece of Thai tradition, reimagined for everyday life.
The pain, the broken flip-flop, the rocky path… all forgotten. What stayed with us was the spark of an idea. And that’s the journey that led us here — to BREEZY.
